Today I introduced your children to our SMARTBOARD. Click on this link --> http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Products/SMART+Boards/Front+Projection/600+Series/Video+library.htm to see a video presentation of what they can do. We will be using the SMARTBOARD a lot this year. It is lots of fun for your children and very helpful. I was hoping to let parents see it first and play with it at our open house, however, due to the heat that wasn't possible. Ask your children what they did with the SMARTBOARD today. I am sending home your child's planner beginning today. Like the SMARTBOARD, I was hoping to wait until after we met together to send it home. Please review your child's planner and initial each day that you have seen it. You can sign or initial on to the right of your child's homework list, in the box labled "Thursday comments". Check our Google Calendar below to double check what your child has written down if you have any questions. Don't forget, we are making fruit salad tomorrow!

Hi Mr. Smith!

I hope you don't mind but I just saw your post on Technorati (while searching for Smartboard material) and thought I would send a quick post.

I read a lot of information on Smart Boards and I think they are a great tool. One thing that a lot of primary school teachers do is have their students align the Smartboards before class. The kids seem to really love it!

There are so many great websites that work well with a Smart Board that help students in the second grade. I list a few on my Smart Board blog called Teachers Love SMART Boards. I created this blog to support a school district in Arizona but please feel free to stop by often. I know it'll have some great resources for you and the parents of your students.

Good luck in the new school year!

Jim
